Beyonce's New Album Spoke To Me!?

I woke up to pure chaos this morning. Beyonce dropped a new album while I was sleeping and when I woke up my phone and Twitter timeline was blowing up. I'm not a Beyonce stan by any means but I do love her music and I think she works very hard. I can't knock a pop star who can actually sing and give great performances.

Anyway, I obviously bought the album so I wouldn't be left out when everyone was talking about it lol. A lot of the lyrics on her album resonated with me. It feels like she's growing beyond superficial lyrics that don't mean anything. My favorite song from the Album is "Haunted" and if you've heard the album you probably know why.

There's a line that says "All these people on the planet working 9-5 just to stay alive, how come?" Is it me or am I continually getting messages that 9-5 jobs are lame... for me at least. Actually, using most of your time to do something you don't enjoy is lame to me. If you enjoy your 9-5 more power to ya!

When you think about it I'm sure Beyonce works way more than 40 hours a week. People like to think that celebrities have charmed lives where they never work and they just get free stuff. I'm sure a lot of them do but most of them work all the time! Hopefully they enjoy it most of the time because like I said yesterday no matter how much you love what you do sometimes you'll hate it.

The first song "Pretty Hurts" is a favorite of mine as well because all I want in life is to be happy. I think the first step to achieving that is to work towards a career that will fulfill me.

What is your aspiration in life?

  1. I'm surprised Beyonce's surprise drop made such a social media frenzy, and while I'm not the biggest fan of her albums, I LOVE her as an entertainer. I've always said that if Beyonce and/or Adele ever rolled into town, I would drop some serious dollar bills to hit up their concerts. As for the 9-5 thing, while I've come to realize that working another office job is NOT my thing, just because I don't work a typical job doesn't mean I'm not working. In fact, just this morning my husband sat me down and had a concerned talk with me about taking some time to stop and breathe. While I don't love everything I do, in the end I love the goal I'm working for, something I know you can relate to as well with switching to full-time self employment. Anyway, I'm gonna go check out her music now. Today is a bona fide sick day and I could really use a lil perk me up. Hope you have a great weekend Candice!

    1. I agree her work ethic is amazing.

I've realized that I work a whole lot too and I write for technology which isn't the most fun thing but like you I enjoy the goal I'm trying to reach. Right now I can be a workaholic because I live alone but I know when Kyle comes back I'll change my hours a little.

In regards to your sick day you should just be lazy, watch crappy movies and shop online. That always helps me :)
